Each year we offer ethnomusicology courses of interest to the wider undergraduate student population of the University of Toronto through our Arts & Science courses, designated with the prefix MUS. These courses are not open to students of the Faculty of Music. Our teaching is aimed at a level accessible to all, regardless of musical background or training. All that is needed is a curiosity about our musical world. Check the A&S Calendar for details of courses.
Any Arts & Science student interested in pursuing ethnomusicology at the graduate level, particularly if they have taken and done well in several of our MUS courses, and preferably if their undergraduate degree demonstrates a background in the analysis of culture and society, may be eligible to pursue our MA in Ethnomusicology.
